Why winged eyeliner and a full-on red lip of course! :)
Actually I was just playing around with my newest purchase - a lipstick from Chanel.
When I went to the Chanel counter I asked for their classic red - so they gave it to me but in their newest formulation.
Meet the Rouge Allure Laque. I got it in 75 - otherwise known as Dragon.
At first I was a little iffy about the concept of this. Call me a traditionalist but I like a stick of lipstick rather than a sponge tip applicator and thick liquid affair.
After trying this I am still a die hard traditionalist but there is no doubting that this is a gorgeous product. The pigmentation is intense. You can dab it on for a subtle stain or you can go all out, as I did, with a heart application. Its incredibly pigmented, long lasting, glossy and smooth.
Dragon is a full on red but has maroon undertones to it which I love and which really come out in the natural light picture.

Having said all this though I don't think I will buy anymore.
They only have a few colours and they are variations on pinks and reds that I don't really need or want.
However, if they ever came out with a nude version, akin to NARS Striptease or MAC's Fleshpot/C-thru - I would be down to that counter in a shot!
Come on Chanel, make it happen!

Looks so chic!I've never tried a red lip, too used to nudes and it looks a bit scary! Is there a good shade to ease me in?haha
@Holly - go with a raspberry coloured stain and if you dont like it put barry m 101 over the top :) thats what i often end up doing :) haha

Loving the red lip on you, it lloks so refreshing. Btw. did you see the two lightest Rouage Allure Laques: one is pinker and the other more beige? I think you would like them.

You really suit a red lip Laura! I love the colour but like you, I think I prefer a proper lipstick rather than a liquid formulation.
A suggestion too - I think that Mac's Chili red would look amazing on you! x

That is a great formula, must agree on that, but somehow don't think chanel will come out with anything close to fleshpot, that might be asking for a bit much :))

did you look at the shade 'coromandel' I think it's like an orangey red with a bit of shimmer, but I want to know if it's that nice in the flesh???

Question though.. I myself feel iffy about that applicator. Sometimes I don't crave for too much of a glossy shine. After applying that lipstick does it seem like you already applied a lot of gloss or is it just a shine? Thought I'd ask because sometimes pictures can be decieving.. thanks!

Congrats on the new apartment! :) And I think the shade of red is great on you. I never wear red during the day. I think it's so noticable and ugly the way it transfers to EVERYTHING...glasses, take away coffee cup lids, mugs. Yuck. But for evening it's not that bad if it's intense. Less noticable on glasses in a dark club anyway :D Don't like the sponge thing either. Silly Chanel!

I sow it first on temptalia and it looked orangy red so I went to test it on counter, but it was not as orangy at all.

Lipstick Queen is definitely worth checking out. I have Pink Sinner, Rose Saint and Medieval and I love them all dearly. And their reds are amazing!
