Lush - I finally get it.

Lush is not everyone's cup of tea but before I left the UK I became used to to trying out some weird and wonderful bath bomb/bath melt/shower emotibomb every day. I looked forward to it. Like a 4 year old might say: "it makes bathtime fun" :)

So I really missed it as I didn't bring any Lush here...

Thank God then for the one retail outlet in Dubai - Deira City Centre mall.

I dragged boyfriend across town to go to Lush on our day off. Yes I did.

The shop is small but well-stocked and I went straight for the gift boxes.

I like these for trying out various products - you get exposed to items you might not otherwise pick up. I got the Happy Box - I think because I liked the smiley wrapping paper but I also liked the sound of the contents:

Goodie bag time

Because I spent over a certain amount I was allowed to pick one random bag from a basket - a lucky dip if you will.

The contents were pretty darn good:

* Amandopondo bubble bar
* Dream time temple balm; and
* Chocs Away soap

Can I just say that I never understood the oohs and aaahs over Lush soap.

For me it didn't lather and just didn't see the point.

Well now I get it. I wet the soap, rub it against my shower sponge and....low and behold - we have bubbles! Plus it smells gorgeous.

So on my next trip I will dip my toe into the world of soap...whilst I won't be doing any 'soap haul' videos of my own in the near future I now get why other people are so enthusiastic about it :)

I have a love/hate relationship with Lush. At times I can't get enough. Other times I think everything smells weird. Would love to see a review of things you love and hate!

Yey Lush! I've started a real addiction on it a while ago!
The downside is that I dont get all the free stuff everybody always talks about... :(
still worth it though :)

My mum got the 'happy gift set' the other week from a friend at work so I tried out some of the stuff. Not keen on either of the soaps and the shower jelly is quite nice. But OMG 'the olive branch' shower gel is gorrgeeeous. I think it must be the olive oil or somthing in it but it leaves your skin sooo smooth and soft!
:)

i heart lush bath ballistics and jellies but otherwise wait until boxing day to 'get it' in humongous grab bag portions! all the awesome snow fairy and sparkly festive soap etc --for super-duper cheap!

Yay! I'm so glad that you're pleased qith their soap products now. Their soaps were my first addiction & now I'm obsessed with bubble bars & hand moisturizers :)
Nice haul!

Lush soaps are great if you use them with a loofah, sponge etc. Some aren't moisturising enough for me, but a few have pleasantly surprised me. Amandapondo is the most awesome bubble bar - it smells like Turkish Delight and the foam is thick and creamy enough to wash with. Enjoy!

I highly recommend joining the forum on the Lush website. You get to hear about forum-only special products and offers.

It would be great to know what you think of the products once you've had a chance to try them out.

Your youtube and blog are my absolute favourites and have been for the last year or so - I'm always super happy when you update :)

If you haven't tried it, you should get 'I Should Coco' by Lush. It's a soap with coconut flakes in it, and it smells wonderfully girly, and really moisturizes, as well as leaving a lovely scent on your skin. Trust me, you will love it :) x

I love Lush!

The sandstone soap is lovely, it has a real citrus scent and leaves my skin feeling so soft and clean, it lathers up really well too.

The cupcake face mask is also pretty amazing :)

ha ha you know I pass a Lush store everyday on the way to work.. I've never understood why everyone loves it so much! The smell in there gives me a headache.. One day I'll get brave enough to go in and try something.. maybe if I hold my nose!

i don't get why lush is amazing either. i bought a soap and didn't find it that special..just a waste of money :/
oh well, i'll try it out again!

I personally have never dared to enter any Lush shop. They smell so strong. The stuff that I have been given as present is nice, but the shop smell puts me off buying anything myself. I just cannot force myself into it.

Similar effect is with Cath Kidson shops. I love the individual flowery products, but all of them in the same place just put you off. Too much.

You've been awarded a "Lovely blog award" from me :) Congratulations! Check out my blog! x

LUSH is so great! After receiving your recommendation of The Comforter Bubble Bar, which featured in one of your Lush videos a while ago, I decided to branch out from their soaps & try the bath products. What I have started doing is crumbing them into small pieces & adding them to hot water to soften my cuticles as the first step of an at-home manicure. It just helps to add a little luxury to the nail painting process! p.s. those goodies look amazing!

I love Lush, only their body products. I try their face stuff but nothing seems to work for me! But i really love and enjoy their soaps!! =))

Whoosh shower gelly is one of my favorite tings ever, haha! <3
I love the consistency and the smell is just so fresh and lovely in the morning :)
I wish we had a LUSH in Denmark but we don't, so I have to order everything online :(
