In and Out number 11

It's been far too long since I did this and I have a lot of in's and a lot of out's...so here goes!

IN

Waking up to sunshine every day
- this is one of the main reasons I moved - I love light and I love summer so Dubai serves that craving. The only downside of this is having to go to work. Work is work wherever you are in the world: it's never the thing that you want to do the most. Me? I like napping, sunbathing, writing lists of things I am going to do in the future and trundling out to the shops. That would be a nice life, right?

Shopping opportunities - seeing as museums and what is traditionally defined as cultural entertainment, is somewhat lacking in this neck of the woods the focus is very much on "mall as entertainment". Shopping is a way of life. I like the fact that Dubai blends US, UK and Australian stores so there really is everything here. I also like to see those familiar brands from home - Boots, Waitrose, Topshop, Accessorize, Reiss, Zara, heck even New Look!

Frederick Fekkai haircare
- I am loving it. That's all there is to say. I feel and see a difference. I know it hasn't been long but every day my hair looks really shiny and healthy and even if its industrial strength silicone coating it, I don't care.

By Terry Baume de Rose - I have noticed that here, more than anywhere, the Baume de Rose is performing better than I could have imagined. It seems to really do the job of combating heat and air-conditioning and I actually feel my lips look a bit fuller. Totally my imagination but I don't mind living with the illusion :)

OUT

Missing home
- When you move anywhere you miss your creature comforts and I do miss home - especially my bed and my parents. In that order ) But at the same time this is an opportunity that I would have kicked myself if I had said no to: and I don't live with regrets. Carpe diem people!

Short hair - I am over it now. It needs to grow. Of course it will grow at its own rate but that doesn't stop me willing it on - daily. It has reached that awkward mid-blah stage but I know in another 2 months it will be over that and moving into the territory of mid-long-ish. Here's hoping!

Tanning time - not having enough time to tan is my moan. It's hardly an out really but it would be nice to be a lady of leisure and lay out for a few hours - spf in hand of course. I have to make the most of the weekends for this but then there are so many other things to sort out. I will get there...

How about your Ins and Outs? As always feel free to link them up in the comments!

Transitions like that are always tough, but so exciting! I just moved back to the states after living in China for 3 years, and it takes some time to make a new place your home :-)

You've made me interested to try high end hair products. I've only really ever used drug store and some tigi conditioner but i didn't really like that. Does it do anything for frizz? My hair seems to be really frizzy right now.

I can relate to missing your family. I am living away from home and have been for 2 years and although i do have family here, i miss my mom so much. I wish i could say it gets easier but it doesn't. It does make going home that much more special though.

I'm so jealous of the sunshine! I know what you mean about missing home, I lived in Paris for a year and it wasn't easy at times, especially to begin with, but an amazing experience to have. I'm not sure even the shops in Paris could compete with those malls though!

Missing home is never fun but it sounds like you have lots of fun distractions!!:) My in has been getting enough sleep lately and my out is a stubborn breakout--go away spots!!

Ok, I feel you...

In:
- starting anything new in your life (like a change of location or a new love)
- Finding the perfect Halloween costume. Yes, I plan on bringing the 80s back.
- realizing that the universe (or God) sometimes gives you little hints on what or where you should be.

Out:
-Creasing eye-shadow. Even with eyeshadow primers, they still continue to crease. Does this mean that my oily skin will help prevent me from wrinkles? I hope so.
- Women settling for me because they are desperate to get married and have children. Why does this still happen?!?

Always love your in and out posts! I lived in Riyadh for 5 years and I miss the heat so bad! It doesn't help that I live by the sea in the north of England now and it's always bloomin cold :(

I've put a link in to my in and out post :)

@lollipop26 - I have been wanting a Balanciaga for ages. I am thinking a black city with the regular hardware. But honestly i change my mind everytime i go to Neiman Marcus and see all of the Balenciagas :) What I am doing is every month buying a gift card with x amount on it (whatever i have saved). I am hopping to have it by Christmas!

Just got my first ever set of gel nails! I am in love!! Mine have rounded tips...and they do feel slightly odd to begin with but they are soo nice! Only thing is I know they can damage your real nails with prolonged use so I think they will be used only for special occaisions...

I think you should really do a blog on nailcare, how you look after your gels, anything you should avoid doing etc... I use St. Moritz tan as well and I was wondering if there are any precautions you should take when tanning??

I linked to my in/out list before - but I was not completely happy with the post so I deleted my comment. I'm going to re-do it at a later date, but I did just want to say:

I think your blog is great and I have been following you on youtube for a while now too - you are a favourite.

Hope you are enjoying Dubai and the new job.

How come you have to be the cutest girl in the entire world?! I discovered your blog and youtube channel recently, and that was only about a month ago! Boy, do I have a lot of catching up to do! You have been the biggest inspiration to me!!!! Makeup/hair and fashion are my major obsessions, and thanks to you, I now own: Lilash (amazing product), an Enzo Milano wand, and amazing extensions! And more!! Thank you so much, everything you say always proves to be the best advice I have ever taken, and you are absolutely gorgeous, so that totally helps too! Needless to say, blogging here I come!
Have fun in Dubai, and I cannot wait to read more posts!!
